Higher Level Teaching Assistant job summary
We are looking to appoint an inspirational HLTA to join our team of excellent teachers at Reigate Valley College to support our students to achieve their full potential.
This role is for 36 hours a week, Monday to Friday, term time only starting on the 1st September 2021 and will be based at either one of our Secondary campuses.
The successful candidate will have excellent support skills and good all-round knowledge of supporting the education of students, deliver planned lessons and an understanding of Special education, mainstream education and / or Pupil Referral Units.
The successful candidate will be supported to gain QTLS if this an area of interest.
The successful candidate will be:
* Passionate about inclusion and making sure all students gain an inspirational education. * An outstanding practitioner with high expectations of pupils’ achievement and behaviour who is committed to providing high quality support for all children. * Able to maintain and drive forward outstanding standards whilst meeting the needs of a very vulnerable group of students. * Able to deliver lessons to small groups of students. * An excellent communicator, able to work inclusively with pupils, staff, parents, Management Committee and other stakeholders.

Reigate Valley College (RVC) is a 5 – 16 Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) set over five campuses encompassing rural, residential and town centre locations, in the South East of Surrey. Reigate Valley College specialises in providing for students who have been permanently excluded from mainstream school or who have met the threshold for a permanent exclusion, we encourage local Headteachers to refer students to us before they permanently exclude so that the students do not have the stigma of permanent exclusion when they leave school. Many of the pupils have social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH), although there are students who may have more complex needs.
Our staff ratio is high at all Key Stages to ensure that students receive excellent academic and pastoral support. The school is split over five campuses, a Primary campus for 12 students at KS1 and 2, and a secondary campus for 16 students at KS3 and we have three Secondary KS4 campuses for 40 + students.
RVC is part of a soft Federation of schools, linked to Wey Valley College and the Fordway Centre.
