Salary: NJC Grade E: £30,518 - £33,699 FTE (This will be paid pro-rata to reflect hours and weeks worked)

Working Pattern: This is a permanent position working 12.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year.

St Davids Primary School are seeking a dedicated and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team. Our vision and values, rooted in Christian principles, create a nurturing, ambitious and inclusive learning environment for all. We are seeking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work across the school, providing cover for teachers during PPA and leadership time.

About the Role

Working under an agreed system of supervision, you will:

Plan, prepare and deliver learning activities to individuals, groups and whole classes

Support teachers by helping create an engaging learning environment and preparing resources

Monitor, assess and record pupils’ progress, providing detailed feedback and evidence

Lead small‑group interventions and support delivery of literacy, numeracy and other curriculum strategies

Contribute to out‑of‑school learning activities as required

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who can bring energy, compassion and commitment to the role.

Essential qualities include:

Experience working with children across key stages

Experience as a Teaching Assistant or Cover Supervisor delivering whole‑class activities

English and Maths qualifications at Level 2 or equivalent

Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills

Desirable (but not essential):

Previous HLTA experience

Willingness to undertake relevant training

First Aid qualification

Awareness of health and safety practices
