What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking to recruit an HLTA to support classroom teaching across the School, to start ASAP. Working alongside teachers, therapists, and other support staff, you will provide support to groups and individuals. You will take responsibility for classroom assistance working with class teachers in order to help promote effective teaching and learning for pupils and students. Support and supervise pupils and students throughout the school day whilst promoting independence self-esteem and social inclusion.

  • Administration and Management of Resources

Key Requirements:

  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with pupils and adults and work as part of team
  • Skills and expertise in understanding the needs of all pupils
  • Knowledge of how to help adapt and deliver support to meet individual needs
  • Subject and curriculum knowledge relevant to the role, and ability to apply this effectively in supporting teachers and pupils
  • Genuine commitment to getting the best outcomes for all pupils and promoting the ethos and values of St Dominic’s school

St Dominic’s School is a special academy in Surrey and provides outstanding education for pupils and students aged 7-19 typically with a primary diagnosis of Speech Language & Communication Needs and/or Autistic Spectrum Condition.
