Higher Level Teaching Assistant job summary

St Patrick's Catholic Primary School, Stockton is looking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant. As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school, working closely with teachers to enhance the educational experience of all pupils. This role is ideal for someone with strong classroom experience, a proactive attitude, and a passion for helping students thrive academically and personally.

You will take on a range of responsibilities, including planning and delivering learning activities under the guidance of teaching staff, providing targeted support to individuals and small groups, and occasionally covering whole classes. Your work will help ensure continuity of learning and contribute to raising pupil achievement.

In addition to supporting students, you’ll also assist with assessment, classroom management, and the development of learning resources. Your ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents will be essential in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
