Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Term Time Only) job summary
Contract Type: This is a permanent post working 32.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 8:30am to 3:30pm.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dynamic team.
About the role:
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our pupils' learning and development. You will assist teachers in the classroom, promote inclusion, and lead classes during PPA time. Your contributions will help ensure a high-quality educational experience for all pupils, including those with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching and Learning:
- Support the work of the class teacher to enhance the achievement of all pupils.
- Lead and teach classes during teachers' PPA time, ensuring engaging and effective learning experiences.
- Promote inclusion by encouraging participation in learning and extracurricular activities.
- Use effective behaviour management strategies in line with the school’s policies.
- Planning and Assessment:
- Contribute to the planning and preparation of learning activities, using your area(s) of expertise.
- Monitor, record, and report on pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers.
- Prepare the classroom for lessons, ensuring a stimulating and safe learning environment.
- Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with staff, pupils, and parents under the direction of the class teacher.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and relevant professionals to support pupil development.
- Participate in meetings with parents and carers to discuss pupil progress and barriers to learning.
- Professional Development:
- Engage in continuous professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge.
- Participate in the school’s appraisal procedures to reflect on and improve your practice.
