What skills and experience we're looking for
Are you an experienced and proactive teaching assistant ready to take the next step in your career and make a significant impact on student learning? The Turing School in Eastbourne, East Sussex, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our vibrant and supportive team.
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds GCSEs in English, Maths, and Science at grade C or above (or equivalent).
- Has a Level 2 or 3 Diploma (or equivalent) and is working at or towards professional standards for HLTA.
- Possesses successful relevant experience of working with children of relevant age within a learning environment.
- Demonstrates developed skills for communicating with individuals, groups, and whole classes to promote learning.
- Has a full working knowledge of relevant policies, codes of practice, legislation, and experience implementing the national curriculum.
- Understands child development and can apply effective behaviour management policies.
- Has a strong understanding of child safeguarding issues and a commitment to child welfare and safety.
- Is a willing learner, a team player, shows initiative, and demonstrates commitment to the role.
