The Whitehaven Academy is part of Cumbria Education Trust. CET is a growing multi-academy trust based in Cumbria; and is committed to creating outstanding, innovative and inspiring learning environments for our schools and their communities. The successful candidate will be joining CET at an exciting time, as we continue to build on our successes and move forward on our journey to establish ourselves as one of the highest performing MATs in the North of England.
This is an excellent opportunity to join The Whitehaven Academy at a pivotal time for its future. There has been significant financial investment to redevelop the school which moved into its state-of-the-art new building in 2022 and new sports facilities added in 2023. The school continues to expand, and we were again oversubscribed for Year 7 admissions in September 2024.
We are looking for an outstanding candidate to enhance the learning of students who have a wide range of learning needs.
The successful candidate will:
- Have HLTA accredited status, or QTS, or willing to work towards this.
- Have relevant experience in a similar environment or appropriate qualifications.
- Hold appropriate academic qualifications to at least GCSE standard, professional qualifications to at least NVQ level 3, or be able to demonstrate competency through proven experience in a similar role.
- Have a working knowledge of national/foundation stage curriculum and other relevant learning strategies.
- Have experience of working alongside staff to plan, resource and deliver high quality strategy interventions.
- Have good inter-personal skills, be able to operate as a member of a busy team and be able to seek and accept guidance and support as required and as offered.
- Have the drive, initiative and ability to respond quickly to further developments in the provision of learning support in schools.
If you have the qualities we require, along with the passion and aspirations to contribute to the success of the School and the MAT, we urge you to hit the "Apply" button.
