About the role

Staynor Hall Community Primary Academy is looking to recruit a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to lead their dedicated team in Tiny Steps (2 year old unit). The hours for this position are 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 8.15 a.m. until 3.45 p.m, and will be worked during the school term time.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and committed to providing an outstanding educational experience for all children within their area of responsibility and have a minimum of 2 years' demonstrable experience in supervising and managing an Early Years setting, specifically including 2-year-olds, together with organising the maintenance of a stimulating and safe learning environment.

The job requirements

  • To ensure a high standard of physical, emotional, social, and intellectual care and development for children placed in Tiny Steps
  • To be responsible for any tasks delegated by the Early Years Lead and to give support to other personnel within Tiny Steps
  • To adhere and enforce all policies and procedures in Tiny Steps
  • Risk Assess all aspects of Tiny Steps to ensure a safe environment for staff, volunteers and children
  • Review and maintain sufficient supplies and resources within the setting.

Essential Criteria

  • Age 18 and over
  • A minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Childcare & Education or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 2 years experience working with young children
  • An understanding of child development and children's needs

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience working with 2-3 year olds
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Paediatric First Aid Certificate
