Higher Level Teaching Assistant job summary
Westoning Lower School is a small school, rated Good by Ofsted (June 2024), in the rural Mid-Bedfordshire village of Westoning, which lies between Toddington and Flitwick. We are part of The Pyramid Schools Trust.
We cater for 3 to 9 year olds with one form per year group from Nursery class to Year 4. This allows us to really know our pupils. We are proud of our close links with the local community, particularly St. Mary Magdalene Church. A Values based education is followed by the whole school community which encourages every child to be a responsible, caring, hardworking and positive person.
We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work in our popular and successful school. You will become a member of a warm, friendly and supportive team who work well together to achieve the best outcomes for our children.
The contract is for 28.5 hours per week over 4.5 days, 39 weeks per year (term time + inset days) 8.30am - 3.45pm with 1 hour lunch, starting 1st September 2025.

Enthusiastic, approachable and friendly?
Experienced in delivering interventions and cover for class teachers?
Able to ensure all children feel safe, happy and able to learn?
Understanding of the curriculum and pastoral needs of primary aged children?
Able to deliver and evaluate lessons, giving feedback where needed?
Confident in using a range of behaviour management skills?
Able to work effectively, flexibly, and independently?
