History Teacher (Remote) job summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate History Teacher to join our National Online School team. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, high-quality History lessons to GCSE students, with the potential to extend to A Level for suitable candidates. The TCES National Online School provides therapeutic, virtual education for pupils with complex needs, including neurodiverse pupils and those experiencing emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA). Our teachers create inclusive, differentiated lessons tailored to each pupil’s abilities and learning plan, helping them overcome barriers and achieve their full potential.
This post offers a clear professional development pathway for ambitious teachers looking to progress into a Head of Humanities role. The successful candidate will have opportunities to lead subject-specific initiatives and curriculum development projects, mentor and support new teachers within the faculty, and participate in TCES leadership training programmes, including the Excellence in Practice development pathway. Progression to the Head of Humanities role is supported through coaching, leadership CPD, and opportunities to demonstrate impact within the faculty.
The History Teacher will be responsible for delivering creative, pupil-focused online lessons, developing, and implementing differentiated schemes of work, supporting students to achieve academic, social, and emotional targets, and collaborating with teaching, pastoral, and clinical colleagues to embed therapeutic approaches in lessons. The role also includes contributing to curriculum development within the Humanities faculty, creating an engaging virtual learning environment, upholding safeguarding responsibilities, and participating in team meetings, training, and whole-school initiatives
