If you’ve got the experience, the passion, and the drive to lead learning and support our pupils to reach their full potential, we want to hear from you!

The Role

As an HLTA within our ASD Centre, you won't just be supporting—you'll be leading. You will complement the professional work of our teachers and SENDCo by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities, which includes planning, preparing, and delivering lessons for individuals, groups, or even whole classes.

What you will be doing:

  • Planning & Resourcing: You'll work with teachers to plan lessons, develop resources, and adjust work plans to meet the diverse needs of our pupils.
  • Supporting Needs: You will champion inclusion, supporting pupils with SEND strategies, and ensuring every child has equal access to opportunities.
  • Mentoring: You will help guide and mentor less experienced teaching assistants, sharing your expertise to build a stronger team.

What you will bring:

  • Experience & Qualifications: You must meet HLTA standards (or equivalent) and have experience working with children in an education setting.
  • Skills: Excellent communication skills, sound IT knowledge, and a solid understanding of behaviour management strategies are essential.
  • Attitude: We are looking for someone with a "can-do" attitude who can use their own initiative, work flexibly, and build strong professional relationships with children, parents, and staff.
  • Commitment: A genuine empathy with young people facing barriers to learning and a commitment to helping them achieve through adapted education.
