Hours of work:             30 hours per week, Monday – Friday 8.45am – 3.15pm
Contract:                       Fixed term until 31 August 2027, Term time + 5 days (195 days/year)

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant with experience of working with children in a primary or special school setting.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Deliver learning activities to pupils within agreed system of supervision, adjusting activities according to pupil responses/needs

• Plan challenging teaching and learning objectives to evaluate and adjust lessons/work plans as appropriate

• Promote independence and employ strategies to recognise and reward achievement of self-reliance

• Work within an established discipline policy to anticipate and manage behaviour constructively, promoting self-control and independence

• Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education / Behaviour Plans and Personal Care programmes

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• GCSE English and Maths Grade A-C (or Functional Skills Level 2 equivalent)

• HLTA status (or QTS)

• Understanding of National Curriculum, EYFS Guidance and other codes of practice e.g. SEN, Equalities, Safeguarding

• Effective use of ICT to support teaching and learning

• Ability to establish professional, effective working relationships with a range of partners/colleagues and children and young people.

Broadacre Primary School became an academy and joined Humber Education Trust in April 2018. The school has expanded rapidly in recent years and in February 2022 moved into a brand-new building. The school now has capacity for 630 pupils aged 5 – 11 and has a 52 place nursery. The school also has Hull’s first ever purpose built unit for children with ASC and has provision for 10 pupils. It is Ofsted rated ‘Good’ and prides itself on implementing a broad, balanced and exciting curriculum, providing high quality care, guidance and support for all pupils.
