What skills and experience we're looking for
The Holt House and Carterknowle Schools Federation is looking for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our staff and to be based at Carterknowle Junior School.
You will need to have experience of working with primary aged children and supporting them effectively both in and out of the classroom. You will need to have high expectations for what junior children can achieve both in their learning and in their independence, while being able to provide good pastoral support and care.
As a HLTA you will be required to cover classes across KS2 including PPA/ ECT/ management time and any other relief cover that is needed; assist class teachers with preparation; assessment; supporting with adaptive learning and delivering interventions. Excellent numeracy and literacy skills are essential for this post.
The governors will consider those who have:
- Relevant teaching assistant qualifications
- Successful experience of implementing work programmes with individuals/groups, in or out of the classroom.
- Good communication and inter-personal skills.
