HLTA Cover Supervisor job summary

Milton Mount Primary School is seeking to appoint a full time or part time Higher Level Teaching Assistant to take on the role of Cover Supervisor commencing in September 2025.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a qualified HLTA or currently working towards this;
  • Have demonstrable classroom experience;
  • Be able establish and maintain effective working relationships with children, colleagues and wider members of the school community;
  • Have an excellent understanding of the EYFS and Key Stage 1 curriculum;
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills and an ability to adapt to the demands of working with young children;
  • Enjoy working with children and be able to show initiative;
  • Have high expectations, together with a caring attitude and flexibility; and
  • Know how to provide our children with a safe and secure environment, and be committed to inclusion and equality of opportunity.

This is a full time or part time role working 3-5 days per week (up to 31.25 hours pw), over 38 weeks per annum (term time only). Working pattern is Monday to Friday from 8.45am – 3.30pm.
