The Trustees and Governors of Sprowston Community Academy are seeking to employ an enthusiastic and dedicated HLTA for Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH).
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To oversee the provision of a short term, supportive learning environment (Quiet School) for the schools most vulnerable SEMH students.
To work with Heads of Year and other relevant staff to develop and implement individualised learning plans for the schools most vulnerable SEMH students accessing the support.
To work with the parents/carers/guardians, students, Heads of Year and other relevant staff to review the learning plans and their effectiveness on a regular basis.
To work with Heads of Year, Attendance Lead and other relevant staff to reintegrate Quiet School students back into mainstream classes.
To oversee all aspects of the Quiet School classroom environment in terms of behaviour, health and safety, safeguarding and learning.
To be responsible for ensuring that only those students with appropriate needs and medical evidence access the Quiet School provision, gatekeeping that evidence on behalf of the school.
To participate in responsive attendance calls in engaging parents and pupils to come into school.
To deliver interventions to those that need SEMH support.
