Higher Level Teaching Assistant

25 hrs per week – 08:15 – 15:30 (four days per week)
Grade 4, pt 10 - £15,810 per annum
Term time only - 38 weeks

Required from September 2025, an HLTA to teach across the school during staff planning, preparation and assessment (PPA) time and periods of short term absence. When whole class cover is not required, you will provide support in order to raise standards of achievement for all pupils by working in class, with individuals or groups of pupils.

We would like to hear from you if you have:

  • have the Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) qualification or equivalent experience and suitable qualifications in English and Mathematics

  • be experienced in working in a primary school setting

  • have regularly delivered whole class or group teaching, both from own and school planning

  • be confident in positive classroom management

  • have a good understanding of how children learn and can be flexible and able to adapt to the needs of the children

  • be able to model excellent communication and liaise closely with teachers and other staff.

  • have good literacy, numeracy and ICT skills
