Hours: 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Literacy) to join our team at Kettering Science Academy. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for literacy and learning to make a real difference to students’ education and experiences. Working closely with our Literacy Lead Practitioner and English department, you will play a key role in promoting a love of reading, delivering targeted programmes of support, and maintaining our library as a vibrant hub of learning.
In this varied role, you will plan and deliver engaging sessions for individuals, small groups, and whole classes, as well as support literacy interventions such as Fresh Start. You will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the library, from managing resources and supervising student librarians, to organising author visits, competitions, and reading celebrations. The successful candidate will be proactive, creative, and committed to helping young people develop their confidence and skills in reading and writing.
