HLTA (Maths) job summary

This role complements the curriculum offering in the Maths Team at TGS.

It will involve planning, preparing and delivering lessons to small numbers of students as well as monitoring pupils, assessing, recording and reporting on pupils' achievement and progress, under the direction of the Curriculum Team Leader. The small groups of students are likely to be selected from those who are working towards age expected outcomes, up to Foundation GCSE level.

The contract is for 28.75 hours per week, term time only (including training days) up to 31st August 2026 in the first instance. Your working days will be Monday - Friday. Your hours include planning and preparation time and one duty per week with the requirement to undertake a form.

Tadcaster Grammar School were recently voted the secondary schools winner of the Attachment Research Community [ARC] Award for Best Practice in the area of attachment aware trauma informed practice, so this is a real opportunity for the successful candidate to work with forward thinking, supportive and approachable colleagues as part of the Learning Support Team. You will work with vulnerable students with additional needs, including those with special educational needs, making a huge contribution to their progress and wellbeing.
