HLTA - Northstowe Primary School job summary
Salary: Grade 7, Points 12 – 19 (£27,711 – £31,067 FTE)
Hours of work: Applicants must be able to workfrom 8:15am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday with a later finish of 4pm one day per week. The role is 29.25 hours per week as a Teaching Assistant, plus an additional 5 hours per week as a lunchtime supervisor which equates to the overall working pattern of 34.25 hours.
Weeks per year: 39 weeks per year (term time only plus training days)
We have an exciting opportunity for a kind, curious and hardworking HLTA to join our team as our newly opened Primary School enters its second year. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced teaching assistant to join a new school and be part of creating an inclusive learning environment for its pupils. The ideal candidate
Is an experienced HLTA with SEND experience.
Has experience of working with and supporting pupils at Key Stage 1 and /or the early years.
Has high expectations for themselves and cares about the pupils they are supporting.
Has a thorough understanding of child protection and safeguarding matters.
Demonstrate the school’s core values of kind, curious and hardworking.
Northstowe Learning Community:
In September 2024, Northstowe Primary School opened with its first intake of Reception aged children. These same children become our Year 1 pupils when we move into our second academic year in September 2025.
Northstowe Secondary College was built in 2019 and is the cornerstone of the Northstowe Learning Community, an all-through school from 2024, catering for students aged 4-19. Northstowe Secondary College opened to just 71 students but is now over-subscribed with over 700 students in Years 7-11. The secondary school will continue to grow until it reaches its full capacity of 1,800 places for students aged 11-16. Northstowe Sixth Form College opened with its first intake of Year 12 students in September 2024 and it will continue to grow with 400 places available for sixth form students. We are also lucky enough to have the Martin Bacon Academy, an area Special School, on our campus that also caters for children aged 4-19.
You will be part of an experienced and growing team of teaching and support staff working to create an inclusive, innovative and aspirational learning environment for the young people and families within the community we serve.
