House Manager job summary

We are looking for someone who can support the needs of our pupils and support our Heads of House Team. You will be promoting effective communication between home and school by being available for parents/carers, communicating effectively with all agencies and arranging and leading meetings and supporting with admin tasks such as monitoring lateness, calling home in relation to behavioural issues and collecting statements. You will also be supporting the students by removing barriers to learning and ensuring they are in the right frame of mind to access and engage in lessons, developing solutions for individual student issues and supporting the development of progress strategies. The role will involve interactions directly with pupils on a daily basis.

We are looking for a candidate who is:

  • Highly committed, enthusiastic, flexible and skilled, who is passionate about supporting pupils’s learning.
  • Able to show initiative and work independently and as part of a team
  • Has excellent interpersonal skills
  • Can communicate confidently and effectively with pupil’s and adults
  • Has a warm personality and is able to remain calm under pressure
  • Is able to plan programmes of support and maintain accurate records of involvement
  • Is able to demonstrate emotional literacy, empathy, be supportive and discreet.
