The Role
Watling Academy is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to help maintain a high‑quality environment across our growing school community. This is a varied, practical and highly valued role at the heart of the Academy, ensuring that our buildings remain safe, clean and inviting throughout the day.
As our Housekeeper, you will play a key part in keeping the Academy running smoothly, supporting both daily operations and special events, and working closely with our Site & Caretaking Co‑ordinator and wider site team. You will:
Maintain high standards of cleanliness across all student, staff and public areas.
Keep internal and external spaces tidy, including litter collection and bin emptying.
Ensure Reception and Leadership areas are consistently presentable for visitors.
Monitor cleaning supplies and liaise with the Site & Caretaking Co‑ordinator and outsourced cleaning teams.
Follow all health and safety procedures, including COSHH and manual handling requirements.
Support small kitchen areas, ensuring good hygiene, correct waste disposal and daily dishwasher use.
Assist with event setup and clear‑down, and report any defects or issues promptly.
This is a key opportunity to contribute to a thriving and expanding school community, including our newly launched Sixth Form. If you’re a dependable team player with a strong work ethic, an eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards, we’d be delighted to hear from you.
