HR Advisor (Coombe Dean and Plymstock Schools) job summary

Are you an experienced HR professional looking to make a real impact in the education sector?

Westcountry Schools Trust (WeST) is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Human Resources Advisor to provide high-quality, commercially aware, and cost-effective HR advisory services across Coombe Dean and Plymstock Schools.

As the HR Advisor, you will manage a diverse caseload, serve as the first point of contact, and play a crucial role in providing professional advice and support on a wide range of employee relations matters. You will also be instrumental in enhancing people-related policies and practices to support the Trust's strategic aims. Your ability to think clearly under pressure, prioritise effectively and resolve problems independently will be key in delivering excellence in professional HR practice for the schools.

While the HR Advisor will primarily work within the schools, addressing local employee relations needs and priorities, as directed by Senior Leadership, they will also benefit from being part of the Trust HR Team, receiving professional practice support and management from a WeST HR Business Partner.

WeST holds a firm belief in giving each child every opportunity to learn and succeed in all that they do. Whist we are a united family of schools who share common values and beliefs, all our schools are unique and hold their own identity. We believe that by working collectively, sharing what works well and jointly developing best practice across teaching and professional services we are stronger together and can provide the very best education for our children. We are proud of our schools, staff and children, and thrive on the constant challenge to do better.

To be considered for the HR Advisor position, candidates must have significant experience in a HR advisory capacity, managing a broad range of employee relations cases and maintaining a diverse caseload, alongside a proven ability to contribute to the development and improvement of HR policies and practices. Experience of working closely with leaders to enhance their employee relations practice is also crucial.

If you meet the requirements for the role, our purpose and values resonate with you, and you are looking for a rewarding role in schools, we would be delighted to receive your application.

An enhanced DBS disclosure is required for this post.

Further details about the Trust can be found on our website www.westst.org.uk and on My New Term https://mynewterm.com/trust/Westcountry-Schools-Trust/142688

Applications are via My New Term and close at 9am on Monday 1st July 2024.

The selection process will take place on Friday 5th July 2024.
