HUB DIRECTOR - SPECIAL SCHOOLS AND ALTERNATIVE PROVISION job summary

The Role:

We are looking for a dynamic and strategic Hub Director to lead and shape our Special schools and Alternative Provision Hub. This pivotal role will be instrumental in fostering a thriving organisational culture, ensuring that through high-performing schools, all children are supported to be successful, whatever their need or background.

In this role, you will report directly to the Director of Education and work closely with the other Educational Directors and wider educational and shared services leadership, to support the strategic and operational development of the trust.

Key responsibilities:

  • Leading the special and AP hub to have a values driven culture aligned with our organisational values and vision.
  • Supporting the educational performance of Special and AP Hub schools
  • Providing effective leadership and management to hub Headteachers and any other direct reports
  • Ensuring efficient and effective monitoring and quality assurance processes across the hub.
  • Analysis and synthesis of education performance and assessment data across the hub
  • Accurate self-evaluation and improvement planning across hub settings
  • Production of high-quality, evaluative reports to the trust executive team, Trust Board and relevant committees
  • Shared accountability with the education leadership team of the educational performance of all schools across the Trust.
  • Shared accountability for delivering the Trusts strategic plan and growth plan.

Who we're looking for:

  • Proven experience of successful leadership at a senior level in this sector
  • Strong knowledge of Special and AP education
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to influence and inspire across all levels of the organisation.
  • A track record of fostering a positive organisational culture and delivering strategic initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for developing others.
  • Appropriate qualifications and a demonstrable commitment to your own professional development
  • The role is hybrid but will require frequent travel to our Shared Services site and to schools within the Trust, the postholder will therefore need to hold a full driving license and have use of a car.
