What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking to recruit a Human Resources Consultant to join our Central HR Team based in the Central Office at Sheffield Business Park in Tinsley however with regular working across our schools to support delivery of our People Strategy.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and confident HR professional with drive and ability who can make a real and direct impact on the delivery of our People Strategy. You will be joining a supportive team of colleagues and be able to contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the service.

The successful candidate will have proven experience of working in Human Resources, preferably in education or the public sector, however it is more important that you can work confidently with a range of stakeholders across the organisation to provide quality HR generalist and advisory support. You will work closely with the Chief People Officer and members of the HR Team to develop and deliver HR services to our schools.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Can provide a comprehensive and professional HR service including leading on casework, restructures, employee relations and support to leaders in people management.
  • Can research, develop and update Trust HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with employment law, national and local terms and conditions and contribute to the delivery of our People Strategy.
  • Can support the development and implementation of the Trust HR/Payroll system including automation of HR processes to improve efficiency.
  • Can support the design and delivery of briefings and training for a range of audiences in respect of HR issues and provide coaching to leaders/managers to develop their people management skills.
  • Can analyse our HR metrics and data to inform decision making, support the production of reports for Trust Board, Executive Team and other audiences across the Trust, identify risks and support action to address them.
  • Can contribute to the development of the HR team through coaching, training, and supervision to build capacity, career opportunities and confidence.
