What skills and experience we're looking for
The Blue Coat School is looking to appoint an experienced ICT professional to be part of our existing team, supporting ICT functions in our Ofsted Outstanding 11-18 Church of England comprehensive school.
This is an opportunity to join a strong and well established IT team, supported by a local, successful and experienced Trust.
The purpose of this role is to:
- Support the IT services, primarily the Blue Coat school and Trust Offices based on the school site, but may also include cover for the Trust primary schools based in Oldham and the surrounding areas if required, delivering operational service, support and projects.
- Play a key role in ensuring network security and connectivity, meeting the need of curriculum and school priorities.
- Support the team’s less experienced colleagues, including acting as mentor to any IT apprentices.
- Working with IT professionals across the Trust, collaborating, networking and developing projects.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Qualified and/or has significant professional experience and strong technical background.
- An excellent team player and people person.
- Positive, open and has a friendly attitude to customer service, improvement and delivery.
You do not necessarily need to have worked in education, what is more important is that you are an excellent IT professional with the right skillset who has the enthusiasm and commitment to be the best that you can be.

We are very proud of our school, which attracts students from across Greater Manchester and beyond. It first opened in 1834. Our founder, Thomas Henshaw, was a committed Anglican who left a bequest to fund a school which would provide education for the orphaned boys of the parish.
