ICT Operations Manager job summary

Are you an experienced ICT operational manager ready to take the step into strategic leadership and with a passion to make a difference in education?

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping and implementing an ICT strategy that will support our schools' commitment to quality education and operational excellence.

Based at Eggbuckland Community College, you will work across all Trust sites to deliver robust, compliant, and future-ready ICT solutions. You will lead a dedicated team of technicians, oversee network infrastructure, and ensure our systems meet the needs of students, staff, and school leaders.

Whilst there is an indicative full time working pattern across the year we are happy to discuss a variety of flexible working options that might suit the right candidate.

WeST is a tight-knit family of schools based around natural geographical proximity in the south west. Initially formed as a small multi-academy trust of only two schools in 2011, the Trust as we know it today was launched in 2017 and now comprises 26 schools, of which 7 are secondary and 19 primary.

We are ambitious, hold high expectations for the children in our care and strive consistently to perform in the top 20% nationally.

WeST holds a firm belief in giving each child every opportunity to learn and succeed in all that they do. Whilst we are a family of schools who share common values and beliefs, all our schools are unique and hold their own identity. We believe that by working collectively, sharing what works well and jointly developing best practice, we are stronger together and can provide the very best education for our children in our geographical area.

About You: We’re looking for a professional whose values align with ours:

  • Compassion: You recognise the needs of others and are committed to improving outcomes.
  • Aspiration: You strive for excellence, resilience, and continuous improvement.
  • Integrity: You act with moral and ethical clarity, fostering a trustworthy environment.
  • Collaboration: You bring people together to achieve shared goals with respect and inclusivity.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in a similar ICT leadership role, preferably within education.
  • Strong skills in strategic ICT planning, multi-site systems management, and project management.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional growth and adherence to the highest ethical standards.

Why Join Us? At WeST, we are dedicated to fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and growth-oriented environment. Your expertise and values will contribute to our mission of supporting educational excellence across our schools.

Ready to bring your ICT leadership to a place that values compassion, aspiration, integrity, and collaboration? We would welcome your application!
