ICT Technician job summary
Lime Trust is recruiting for an ICT Technician to support its London schools. The role will cover five sites in Romford and Waltham Forest, both remotely and in person, and occasional travel to a sixth school in Luton will also be required.
The Trust’s IT is based on Microsoft’s cloud systems, we are in the final stages of a migration from on-premises Active Directory to Entra and Intune. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an excellent working knowledge of all the common Microsoft products, both in the cloud and on the desktop, and have a willingness to learn the more specialist apps that are used within our schools.
The ICT team is small and busy, but both the team and the Trust are expanding and we are seeking a highly-motivated techie who can adapt and flourish in a demanding environment. As an education organisation we keen to train the successful candidate in any areas that need reinforcing, with both informal on-the-job training and more formal methods if appropriate.
Experience is required in:
Microsoft 365 administration
Intune, Entra and Active Directory
SharePoint, Teams, Outlook
Office applications
Multi-factor authentication
Maintaining desktop and laptop PCs, and smartboards
Supporting and maintaining iPads
Desirable experience:
Basic network administration
Paxton Net2 or equivalent door control system
InVentry or equivalent visitor management system
Hikvision or equivalent CCTV systems
Ricoh printers and copiers
Printix or equivalent cloud printing service
Wired and wireless networking
LGfL SchoolProtect and Senso
Sophos antivirus or equivalent
Apple School Manager and Meraki MDM
Solarwinds HelpDesk
As well as supporting the Trust’s computers and systems, the technician will support teaching staff directly, providing assistance and informal training when required, and advise them on apps and services that might benefit their classrooms. The role will also require liaising with external service providers and tracking the status of support calls made to them.
