Inclusion and SEND Lead (SENDCO) job summary

This role is a part time role at 0.5 (2 ½ days) however, the school will consider 0.6 (3 days) for the right candidate.

This is a very exciting opportunity for a talented and ambitious teacher, or a talented and ambitious existing SENDCo who is looking for their next step in their career development.

We are looking for a candidate who will:

Be committed to our Catholic ethos and be committed to the wider life of our school

Lead by example and has a proven track record of making a positive impact in schools

Be innovative, forward thinking and creative

Achieve outstanding practice through the challenge and motivation of others

Have high expectations of achievement and behaviour

Be able to play a crucial role in developing, managing and leading projects across school

Work in partnership with the Headteacher, SLT, Governors and wider community

Lead in key areas across the whole school, including: be the School SENDCo, be the designated teacher, EAL lead and work as part of the large safeguarding team

Be able to support a range of middle leaders, teachers and teaching assistants in providing an excellent education to the children in our care.

Have excellent communication and organisational skills

Be hard working, enthusiastic and fully committed to the school

Lead on all SEND needs in the school and through training etc create a school that excels in the provision for children with additional needs

Be an outstanding classroom practitioner, who can lead by example and work with staff in a variety of roles

Have the NASENCO award or NPQSENCO or other relevant qualification, and where someone does not have these, be willing to undertake the NPQSENCO award

Have experience in working with outside agencies
