Crofton Academy is recruiting for an Inclusion Mentor to work alongside the Assistant Headteacher - Behaviour & Attitudes, SENCO and Year Leader Team. This is an excellent opportunity to support and challenge our young people and their families to improve behaviour and wellbeing across the Academy.
The Role
Reporting to the Assistant Headteacher - Behaviour & Attitudes, you will assist our young people in overcoming barriers to learning using a range of techniques to focus on the academic, social and emotional wellbeing of pupils requiring additional support. We require a confident person who can maintain liaison between home and the Academy.
The successful candidate will be/have:
A confident and effective communicator with an ability to persuade and negotiate.
Able to have difficult conversations in a positive manner.
Organised with a desire for continuous improvement.
Able to motivate and encourage pupils to remain focused and reinforce self-esteem.
Able to prioritise conflicting demands successfully and appropriately.
Confident in acting as a coach/mentor, to develop pupil’s confidence, organisation, and independent working skills.
Passionate about the education of children and young adults.
The ability to work on their own initiative, but also be able to work flexibly as part of a team.
The post holder will be responsible to the Assistant Headteacher - Behaviour and Attitudes. The working hours for this post are 08:15 - 15:15.

Have an ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
