What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Inclusion Officer to join our team, working closely with students, staff, and families to create tailored interventions that promote independence, engagement, and success in both academic and personal goals. The successful candidate will work within our multidisciplinary team to support students with a range of SEMH and additional needs, contributing significantly to their overall development and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored inclusion and emotional support to learners with social, emotional, behavioural, or learning needs through 1:1 and small group interventions.
  • Coordinate and/or deliver therapeutic support, including wellbeing sessions and access to internal or external therapy services.
  • Work closely with staff, families, and external agencies to create and implement effective support plans that promote learner engagement and wellbeing.
  • Support a whole-school inclusive approach, contributing to staff training, policy development, and promoting trauma-informed, inclusive practice.
  • Maintain accurate records and monitor the impact of inclusion and therapy interventions, reporting progress to senior leaders and contributing to multi-agency reviews.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Diploma in Therapy (or equivalent qualification in counselling, child therapy, or related discipline)
  • Experience working with children and young people with SEMH, learning disabilities, autism, or other special educational needs
  • Strong knowledge of therapeutic strategies related to sensory processing, fine and gross motor development, and social engagement
