We are seeking an Inclusion Support Assistant to join our newly designed Specialist Resource Provision (SRP) at Healing Secondary Academy, - The Hive. The successful candidate will support students with communication and interaction needs, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and social communication difficulties. You will work collaboratively with staff and external professionals, providing tailored support to meet students’ individual needs as outlined in their Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs)

The RoleLocation: The Hive -Healing Academy, Grimsby
Salary Scale: Scale 3, Points 5-6 (£25,583 - £25,989 FTE £19,135 - £19,438 Actual)
Contract: Fixed term - 2 years (with potential to become permanent subject to funding)
Hours: 32.5 hours per week, Term time plus 5 days
Reports to: Lead of The Hive
As an Inclusion Support Assistant, you will provide tailored support for pupils with communication and interaction needs. You will work within The Hive (our Specialist Resource Provision - SRP) and across the mainstream school to ensure individual needs outlined in EHCPs are met, fostering independence, emotional resilience, and social skills.
Key Responsibilities- Tailored Support: Provide learning opportunities and supervise students with additional needs, advocating for them within The Hive and the wider school.
- Holistic Care: Support students in accessing the curriculum while managing personal care, medical, and well-being needs.
- Independence & Growth: Use effective strategies to foster self-esteem, decision-making, and self-management.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the SENDCo, teachers, and external agencies to ensure well-coordinated, personalised provision.
- Targeted Areas: Upon appointment, you will be aligned with one of four key areas:
Pathways to Independence, Building Relationships, Health & Well-being, or Transition to Education/Employment.
The Person: What We Are Looking ForYou are a patient, resilient, and empathetic professional committed to driving inclusion.
Essential Requirements:
- GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths.
- Experience working with SEND pupils within an educational setting.
- Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and social communication difficulties.
- Understanding of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with families and staff.
Desirable Requirements:
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
- First Aid qualification.
- Experience in transition planning for further education or independent living.
