We work in partnership with local primary and secondary schools to provide alternative education pathways/ day 6 provision.

As an Inclusion Support Worker you will offer more than classroom support. You will make connections, develop relationships and help our pupils navigate the path to a better future.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare the classroom environment to optimise learning

  • Support pupils in class to access academic and vocational learning

  • Act as a co-regulator for students experiencing emotional distress, employing trauma-informed approaches to foster readiness for learning

  • Maintain accurate record-keeping by completing pupil records

  • Lead specific activities and sessions

  • Implement consistent learning routines at school, in the community and in the family home to boost attendance and engagement

  • Utilise approved de-escalation techniques and physical intervention, when necessary, to ensure the safety of students and staff during periods of crisis

About You

As an ISW you will need to have sensitivity, understanding, patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations, alongside excellent verbal communication and active listening skills.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Experience in a school or similar setting

  • Ideally experience working with children/ young people with SEN / SEMH needs

  • A good general education including GCSE Maths and English or equivalent

  • A valid Driving Licence with access to a vehicle.
