Join a vibrant, inclusive, and forward-looking academy. Make a real difference.

Thornhill Academy, part of Consilium Academies, is seeking to appoint a passionate and dedicated Innovation Manager to join our dynamic pastoral and inclusion team.

Following our recent Ofsted inspection in May 2024, where we were proud to be graded 'Good', Thornhill Academy continues its rapid improvement journey. We are ambitious for the life chances of our students and committed to providing a high-quality education for every young person in our care.

The Role

As Innovation Manager, you will lead our internal inclusion provision, supporting students who are temporarily withdrawn from mainstream lessons to address behaviour choices that impact learning. You'll work intensively with students, teachers, families, and external agencies to remove barriers to learning, instil positive behaviour strategies, and reintegrate students successfully back into mainstream education.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for inclusion, behaviour management, and pastoral care to help shape a culture of success and support across the academy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the internal inclusion provision, ensuring it mirrors mainstream expectations.
  • Work intensively with students to identify and address barriers to learning and behaviour.
  • Develop and implement individual behaviour contracts and re-integration plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents/carers, SENCO, and external agencies to provide holistic support.
  • Track, monitor, and report on student progress and outcomes.
  • Contribute to the wider pastoral and inclusion strategy at Thornhill Academy.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with students, staff, and families.
  • Is self-motivated, organised, and a positive role model.
  • Has strong ICT, literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Demonstrates resilience, flexibility, and a commitment to improving the life chances of young people.
  • Has experience working with students, families, and external agencies (school or inclusion environment experience desirable).
  • Understands and upholds safeguarding policies and procedures.

In return, we offer:

  • A supportive, welcoming environment with a real focus on staff wellbeing.
  • Excellent professional development opportunities through our Centre for Professional Learning.
  • Generous staff benefits, including a Local Government Pension, enhanced contractual sick pay, an Employee Assistance Programme, and Vivup membership offering hundreds of discounts.
  • A 36-hour working week for full-time support staff and 34 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • An exciting future as part of the Department for Education’s School Rebuilding Programme.

At Thornhill Academy, our diverse and vibrant community celebrates and embraces difference. We are proud to foster an environment where every student and staff member feels supported, included, and inspired to achieve their potential.

Apply now and be part of a journey where you can truly make a difference!
