Instrumental Teacher - Casual contract job summary

We are looking to appoint Instrumental Teachers to join our large, highly successful, creative and dynamic Arts and Technology faculty. This is the perfect role for multi-instrumentalists who are passionate about Music and are keen to share their skills and knowledge with students. This is an exciting opportunity for somebody to work within our Music and Performing Arts team as an Instrumental Teacher, working alongside our class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of students in Music, as well as the enrichment provision. We offer an extensive and highly supportive programme for our new staff and a diverse range of professional improvement opportunities for more experienced staff. Newquay Tretherras is one of the largest schools in Cornwall, with over 1700 young people, including a thriving Sixth Form, set on the beautiful north coast. We are a popular and over-subscribed school at the heart of our community. We are known for being an inclusive school with a caring family ethos. Our judicious curriculum is ambitious and aspirational for all of our children as we believe that a great set of exam results, whatever a child’s starting points, opens doors to exciting futures. Our staff set high standards and we aim to ensure that all our children are inspired in school to become the best that they can be, realise their full potential and achieve remarkable things.

Tretherras students are a pleasure to teach and learn with: they know that their education is important for their life chances and they take full advantage of the incredible range of clubs, experiences and facilities offers to them at Tretherras, both within and beyond the classroom.

We have a large team of specialist staff who are fully committed to our students and to each other. We offer excellent pastoral and professional support for all our staff and our dedicated Learning Team ensures high quality training and career development opportunities for all, whatever the stage of your career. Whether you are a newly qualified or experienced teacher, you will find Tretherras to be a school that will invest in you personally. We offer an extensive and highly supportive programme for teachers in the early stages of their career and there are lots of opportunities to become involved in the wider life of the school. As a member of CELT, we also provide an extensive CPD programme and opportunities to share school improvement expertise with colleagues from across the four secondary schools in the Trust.
