Interim Deputy Headteacher (Maternity Cover) job summary

Working closely with the Head of School the successful candidate will play a key role in the leadership and management of the school.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the Headteacher in the day-to-day leadership and management of the school

- Lead on teaching and learning, curriculum development and pupil premium

- Line manage and support staff, promoting professional development and high standards

- Contribute to school improvement planning and self-evaluation

- Promote safeguarding, pupil wellbeing, and positive behaviour

- Engage positively with pupils, parents/carers, governors, and external partners

The Ideal Candidate Will:

- Have proven leadership or management experience within a school setting

- Have experience in working with children who have SEMH and complex needs

- Demonstrate a clear commitment to inclusive education and raising attainment

- Inspire, motivate, and support both pupils and staff

- Have excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills

- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
