Intervention Mentor Role
Stephenson Academy provides education for students both male and female aged between 9 and 16 years. We are the local SEN provision for students with social emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). We pride ourselves on delivering a high quality curriculum, truly individualised to meet the needs of our students, ensuring successful outcomes for all. We have a cohort of staff who are from all walks of life which has created a truly dynamic and diverse team.
Salary: Pay Range 2-4 Actual Pay - £24,440 - £28,337 per annum (FTE, £28,163 - £32,654)
Working Hours: 37 Hours per week / 39 weeks per year (TTO)

If so, you could make a difference to the lives of these young people. Your job is about building relationships and committing to helping students make progress, both academically and personally.
You will:
undertake educational activities
attend to the educational, personal and social needs of students
support learning and development
ensure student safety
develop approaches to maintaining students who are in crisis.
Conduct home visits
Support students on and off site
Support the delivery of lessons and assessment of students’ progress
Work as part of our WREN provision for students requiring additional support
Personal qualities such as integrity and being able to work effectively as part of a team are more important than experience in this field, which is why our staff join us from different roles and trades.

Stephenson Academy is a successful 80 place special school, which opened in 2012. It has a main site, which caters for 11-16 year olds. We have an associated independent sixth form provision for 16-19 year olds.
As a specialist academy we cater for students who have Education and Health Care Plans with an identified primary need of Social Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties (SEMH), many with associated challenging behaviour. Many of our students have additional special educational needs such as speech, language and communication difficulties, Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and mental health difficulties
