Intervention/SEN teacher job summary
We are setting up a new intervention room for some of our high needs SEN children . The space is self contained with its own outside area and toilets. We are looking for a qualified teacher to plan and deliver the learning in this space alongside some of our existing support staff. We want to ensure that these children have access to a high quality and appropriately personalised curriculum delivered by a teacher when they are not working within their mainstream class.
With this in mind, we are looking for a person who:
- is passionate about inclusion and meeting the needs of SEN children
- has awareness of how to plan a curriculum for children working significantly below their age related expectations
- can incorporate children's personalised EHCP targets into daily provision
- is passionate about fostering children's independence
We do not feel the post is suitable for ECTs. Ideally we are looking for an experienced teacher who has had experience for planning for children with complex needs.
Commitment to safeguarding
Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff, volunteers and trustees to share this commitment.
Our recruitment process follows the keeping children safe in education guidance.
