Do you have the confidence to step into a role that supports students during one of the most important times in their education?
Can you bring compassion, courtesy and commitment to a team that values integrity and excellence?
If you’re looking for a meaningful way to support education, we’d love to hear from you!
Your role:
As an Invigilator at Thomas Deacon Academy, you will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth and secure running of internal and external examinations. Working under the guidance of the Exams Officer and Lead Invigilator, you will help create a calm, supportive environment where students can perform at their best. This casual role offers flexibility and is ideal for someone who is reliable, punctual and able to maintain high levels of concentration.
You’ll need confidence in communicating with both students and staff, a curious mind to learn and apply exam regulations, and the courage to handle unexpected situations with professionalism. Previous experience in a school or exam setting is desirable, but full training will be provided, including safeguarding practices - so a commitment to learning and teamwork is key.
About us:
The Academy’s Ofsted inspection in November 2024 noted that “pupils benefit from a welcoming environment where diversity is celebrated. They enjoy celebrating each other’s differences and participating in cultural activities. The school provides an ambitious curriculum that ensures pupils develop a strong foundation of knowledge and skills from Year 3 through to Year 13, preparing them well for their next stage of education or employment. The Ofsted inspection rated all areas, including the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management, and sixth-form provision, as 'Good'”.
At Thomas Deacon Academy, we believe in the power of courtesy, commitment, compassion, courage, curiosity, and confidence. These values are at the heart of everything we do, and we are looking for someone who embodies them in their work.
