We are recruiting for an IT Infrastructure Apprentice based at Malcolm Arnold Academy in Northampton.
About the role
As an IT Infrastructure Apprentice at Malcolm Arnold Academy, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of efficient and reliable IT services across the academy. Working under the guidance of the Academy IT Manager, you will assist with resolving technical issues, maintaining IT systems, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. This hands-on apprenticeship offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your technical skills in hardware, networking, and software support while building strong customer service capabilities by helping staff and students with their IT needs. You will benefit from structured training, mentoring, and access to modern IT resources, working within a supportive team environment committed to continuous learning and professional growth.
37 Hours a week, Full Time, 52 weeks, fixed term contract for 2 years

Who we are looking for
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual with a keen interest in IT infrastructure and customer service. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn and develop technical skills in hardware, networking, and system support while delivering friendly and effective assistance to users. You should be approachable, patient, and able to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical colleagues. A strong team player who is organised, adaptable, and committed to ongoing professional development will thrive in this role. Previous IT experience is not essential—just bring your curiosity, positive attitude, and willingness to grow.

Malcolm Arnold Academy is a co-educational secondary school based in Northampton, Northamptonshire, for students aged 11-18.
The school takes its name from the legendary composer Sir Malcolm Arnold. Born in Northampton in 1921, he was one of the leading figures in 20th-century classical music and helped to establish the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain.
