IT Infrastructure Apprentice job summary

As an IT Infrastructure Apprentice, you’ll help keep our academy’s IT systems running smoothly — monitoring network logs and alerts, supporting routine maintenance on switches and access points, and ensuring our staff and students have reliable access to the technology they depend on every day.

This is a fantastic opportunity to start your career in IT, working alongside experienced professionals in our Network and Infrastructure Team while supporting the wider David Ross Education Trust IT & Data Team.

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in providing excellent customer service — someone who listens, communicates clearly, and goes the extra mile to help users resolve their IT issues with a positive and professional attitude. You’ll also be keen to learn and develop hands-on technical skills in networking, infrastructure management, and IT operations under the guidance of experienced mentors.

At Thomas Middlecott Academy, we celebrate success, value teamwork, and encourage curiosity. You’ll be part of a supportive environment where your ideas are welcome and your growth is a priority.

If you’re ready to take the first step toward an exciting career in IT — helping to deliver reliable, secure, and user-focused technology — we’d love to hear from you.

This position is for up to 2 years fixed term contract (dependant on duration of apprenticeship), working full time (37 hours per week, working days Monday - Friday).

However, alternate working patterns such as term-time only working may be considered for the right candidate.
