IT/MEDIA SUPPORT TECHNICIAN

Grade: H4
Salary: £25,889 to £27,115 per annum including Fringe allowance.
Contract: Permanent full year (52 weeks)
Hours: 37 hrs per week 8.00am – 4.30pm, 4.00pm finish on Fridays (1 hour break)
Holiday: 25 days + Bank Holidays

Sir John Lawes School is one of the founder schools of the Trust. Opened in 1939 it still occupies the original historic building as well as additional areas dedicated to specific subjects e.g. music, D&T. An Ofsted rated Outstanding school, Sir John Lawes goes from strength to strength with results improving and numbers growing.
To support us along this journey we are now recruiting a first line Media and IT Technician, we are looking for a problem-solving ethos and a desire to learn.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
Provide first line support including:
Troubleshooting and resolving IT issues for staff & students.
Hardware/software/printer issues – PCs, iMacs, iPads, laptops.
Work reported issues/requests via tickets in a Helpdesk system.
Supporting student & staff iPads via Endpoint/Intune
Support & maintain classroom technologies, e.g. projectors, PCs, interactive screens
Occasional installation of software on specific PCs.
Support school events by setting up A/V equipment, microphones, projectors etc.
Ensure the Teaching & Learning needs of the school are met.
Build relationships with staff and understand their requirements.
Work unsupervised when the Team Leader is away.
Occasionally there is a requirement to work after 4.30pm to support events e.g. parents’ evening. This extra time worked is returned as time off in lieu.
