IT Operations Manager job summary

Monday to Thursday 8.00am to 4.00pm Friday 8.00am to 3.30pm - 52 weeks

The IT Operations Manager will be responsible for establishing, managing, and growing a dedicated IT support service for non-ASSET Education schools. This role will involve overseeing the delivery of high-quality IT support, actively identifying and securing new school partnerships to expand the service portfolio and generate revenue for the IT Team. Additionally, the role will involve team leadership, development, and training, with a view to the successful candidate potentially succeeding the Director of IT in the future. A key aspect of this role will also be to provide oversight and management of the entire IT operation during periods when the Director of IT is focused on specific strategic initiatives such as GDPR and Data Management.

The person that we are looking for needs to:

  • Extensive experience in administering and supporting Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) including core applications such as Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar, Meet, and Chat.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently and effectively within the Google environment.

  • Ability to think strategically and develop solutions that meet the specific needs of client schools.

This post will be reporting directly to (Director of IT) and will be based in an Ipswich School and will be expected to travel to other schools in the Suffolk area.
