- Salary Range: Band 2 FTE £24,530-£25,756. Actual starting salary £24,803.40 with performance-based yearly increments available.
What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking to appoint an IT Operations Technician to join our ICT team as soon as possible. You will work as part of a collaborative, cross-site team supporting both of the Basildon Academy sites.
General duties include maintaining the school network, ensuring Desktops as well as laptops are set up correctly and kept up to date with the appropriate software, making sure that classroom checklists are completed, ensuring all computers and printers are operational, assisting with general IT user queries and supporting new staff IT inductions.
The successful candidate will have:
- 5 GCSEs at higher grade including English, Maths & ICT or equivalent,
- Experience of providing ICT support to a system which a large number of end-user devices,
- excellent PC office systems skills,
- good communication and inter personnel skills,
- a working knowledge of ICT technologies,
- both hardware and software including a range of faults and general maintenance
- a commitment to working as a positive and constructive team member.
Experience working within a similare ducational establishment is desirable but not essential.

Our academy operates across two sites. The Lower Academy specialises in the teaching of our Key Stage 3 students, whilst The Upper Academy specialises in teaching Key Stage 4 and 5.
