IT Systems Development Engineer job summary

IT Systems Development Engineer

37 hours per week, full year - not term time only

Salary: £38,420 to £45,670 per annum (pay award pending) dependant on levels of knowledge, skills, relevant qualifications and experience
We are looking to appoint an IT Systems Development Engineer to join the small, busy IT Department at this large sixth form college.

Purpose of the Post

The post offers the opportunity for a suitably skilled and experienced individual to work closely with the Director of Systems and a team of colleagues, providing support and maintenance for the College network and IT systems, developing services and infrastructure for onsite and cloud systems to improve the efficiency and security of the College IT systems.

As a part of the well-integrated and supportive IT Support team, you will be integral to delivering the tools and infrastructure to enable your colleagues to provide an outstanding education for young people so you will see the impact of your work across the College in real time on a daily basis.

The College is a dynamic and exciting workplace. No two days will be the same, so the post suits someone with the flexibility, creativity and enthusiasm to meet the challenges that arise.

The ideal candidate will enjoy exploring technologies to their optimum performance and security. An individual looking for the freedom to tackle challenges with their own expression, while still meeting the requirements of security certifications, will excel in this role.

Ideally the successful candidate will take up post as soon as possible. Whilst an on-site presence will be required to meet College needs (i.e., holiday/absence cover) this post lends itself to the option of flexible/remote working.
