IT Technician job summary

Are you a tech-savvy professional with a love for education and a passion for Apple technology? We’re looking for an experienced IT Technician to join our Trust and keep our digital learning environments running smoothly across all our schools. You’ll be the hands-on expert ensuring that staff and pupils can make the most of their digital tools — from iPads and MacBooks to classroom displays and learning apps — helping technology enhance great teaching.

As a key member of our central IT team, you’ll provide responsive support, practical troubleshooting and confident advice to staff and pupils. Whether it’s setting up devices, maintaining Apple systems, or keeping classroom tech reliable and secure, you’ll take pride in doing things properly and be the person staff turn to when things need sorting fast. You’ll also work closely with teaching and digital learning teams, exploring how technology can continue to support inspiring, engaging lessons. Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to travel to all of our school sites.

We’re looking for someone with relevant IT qualifications, ideally linked to Apple technologies such as the Apple Certified Support Professional or Apple Teacher programmes, and experience maintaining Apple devices in a professional or educational environment. Familiarity with classroom technologies such as interactive boards, audio-visual systems and educational software is highly desirable, along with a sound understanding of iOS and macOS ecosystems and strong troubleshooting skills. Just as importantly, you’ll be a clear communicator who can explain technical issues, a calm problem-solver under pressure, and someone who enjoys working independently across multiple school sites.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • - A strong working knowledge of Apple systems (iOS, macOS) and related technologies - Experience supporting classroom or business IT systems - Excellent communication and problem-solving skills -A proactive, detail-oriented approach and the confidence to work across multiple schools A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

In return, you’ll join a supportive, forward-thinking team where your skills are valued and your work makes a visible difference every day. Every fix, every update and every bit of advice you offer helps teachers focus on teaching and pupils focus on learning.

We’re committed to diversity and welcome applications from all backgrounds. If you’re ready to roll up your sleeves, travel across our schools, and help us keep classrooms connected and inspired, we’d love to hear from you.

Please note that we reserve the right to close this vacancy early if a suitable candidate is appointed, so early applications are encouraged.
