IT Technician (Level 1) job summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic IT Technician Level 1 to join the central King’s Group Academies IT Service. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the start of their IT career to develop hands-on technical skills while supporting staff and students across our academies in Gosport and Portsmouth. At KGA, our work is guided by our values of Honesty, Faith and Courage, and our IT service plays a vital role in enabling high-quality education and opportunities for every child.

The role provides first-line technical support, helping to resolve day-to-day IT issues, set up devices and classrooms, and ensure that our digital systems run smoothly. You will respond to support requests, carry out basic troubleshooting, install hardware and software, and escalate more complex issues to senior colleagues. You will also support site moves, events and equipment deployment, contributing to a reliable and professional IT service that underpins teaching, learning and academy operations.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be friendly, patient and customer-focused, with a genuine interest in technology and problem solving. You may have previous experience in a helpdesk, customer service or IT support environment, or be looking to take your first step into an IT career. Strong communication skills, attention to detail and a willingness to learn are essential.
