We are currently seeking to appoint a teacher for February 2026 (after half term) (for 1-year fixed term

maternity post) to join our hard working and motivated team.

Freeland CE Primary School is a friendly, small village school with 130 pupils across 6 classes.

Our ideal candidate will be:

An excellent class teacher with successful experience of teaching in KS1, who loves working with

children and inspires them to achieve high standards and realise their potential.

A great team player who can work successfully in collaboration with others.

Have the highest expectations for all pupils, to ensure they reach their full potential.

innovative and creative in delivering outstanding lessons within an extremely positive and

stimulating learning environment.

Able to lead a core subject i.e. maths

Person Specification

Post: Class Teacher

Education/Training : QTS Degree Recent INSET in Core Subjects Experience teaching across the Key Stages

Experience: Recent teaching experience of working individually or as a team to raise standards across the school

Effective planning skills

Outstanding teaching skills which are engaging and motivating

Ability to assess and monitor children’s progress

Excellent class and behaviour management

Ability to meet the social and emotional needs of young children

Experience of leading a subject area

Skills and/or Aptitudes : Well organised

Ability to work as part of a team

Flexible

Innovative

Good sense of humour

Good communication skills including working with parents and other external agencies

Excellent class management and a range of behaviour strategies

Experience of having co-ordinated a subject across the school, or led an area of school improvement

Other requirements : Sets high standards (for themselves and others)

Able to share the whole school vision for school improvement

Committed to the life of the school

Energetic and enthusiastic

Effective team player and excellent interpersonal skills
