What skills and experience we're looking for

We wish to appoint an excellent and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team. We are looking for a TA with flexibilty, experience in learning support and the ability to contribute to our school's community and an understanding of the National Curriculum.

The successful applicant will be adaptive to children's varying needs, but be able to work under the guidance of the teaching team, SENCO and Leadership Team.

The post will involve working to support the class teacher, supporting children 1:1 and working with small groups to support learning.

The successful candidate will:

  • be educated to at least GCSE Grade C in English and Maths or equivalent and have the experience of working with children in an educational setting
  • have relevant qualifications in childcare and learning and a working knowledge of the National Curriculum
  • have experience of supporting individuals and small groups of children in achieving the lesson objectives
  • be able to liaise with the class teacher, providing feedback and keeping records of progress and behaviour
  • support the social, emotional, behavioural and medical needs of pupils
  • Communicate with parents
  • Prepare resources and undertake administrative tasks
  • Display children's work creatively
