Key Stage 5 Coordinator job summary

We want someone who is passionate about the delivery of the English curriculum to pupils of all ages and abilities. We expect that, through leading your effective teaching and learning, all pupils will be inspired to achieve the outstanding progress that we know they are capable of.

You must be thoroughly dedicated and committed to driving standards and raising achievement through the delivery of outstanding lessons.

About You:

We are looking for someone who:

  • is passionate about English, helping all pupils succeed despite their background band abilities

  • is committed to raising the achievement of all learners by ensuring teaching across the curriculum is of the highest quality
  • is able to make positive relationships with staff, pupils and parents alike
  • is able to plan and deliver innovative and inspirational lessons that engage pupils.

TLR Responsibilities:

To support the HoF in leading all aspects of practice within in the department for a designated Key Stage.

To include:

  • Ensuring the curriculum is reviewed and updated regularly so that it
  • meets and exceeds the demands and ambition of the national curriculum and/or relevant examination specifications;
  • clearly identifies and plans the time required for suitable assessment and feedback, in line with the academy’s policies;
  • is clearly communicated to all stakeholders with appropriate planning documentation, in keeping with the academy’s policies;
  • meets with the academy’s expectations for how it reflects equality and diversity qualities and skills;
  • is enriched to help develop cultural capital and promote personal development.
  • Monitoring the implementation of the curriculum within the key stage, ensuring teaching and assessment are of a high quality, and that the pace of delivery appropriately meets the needs of learners.
  • Ensuring curriculum delivery is highly effective, supporting this with arranging and/or delivering relevant CPD.
  • Planning, writing, administering formative assessments relevant to the curriculum plan for the key stage.
  • Planning, writing, administering and analysing summative assessments relevant to the curriculum plan for the key stage (including any PPEs and NEAs).
  • Responding to summative assessment data with suitable interventions for groups of pupils and individual pupils.
  • Supporting whole school initiatives relevant to the key stage.
  • Providing positive and professional leadership, demonstrating resilience and flexibility, and acting as a role model to other staff.
  • Undertaking any other duties that might reasonably be regarded as within the responsibilities of the post.

Specific details of the above, relevant to the key stage and faculty, will be agreed, regularly reviewed and adapted, with the post-holder by the HoF though line management meetings.
