What skills and experience we're looking for
This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with previous experience in leadership of year groups, or a large department, to provide outstanding leadership and achievement at Key Stage 4.
You will lead and support Heads of Year to provide excellence in the daily management and welfare of students and to assist with the maintenance of high standards of behaviour and attitudes.
You will work with Heads of Year and Subject/Faculty leaders to ensure that progress is closely tracked and appropriate interventions are in place to ensure positive outcomes for all students in all year groups.
You will be able to confidently support staff in management strategies to support students who face barriers to their learning.
The successful candidate will coach and manage Heads of Year, Pastoral Assistants and Wellbeing Leads to ensure systems are followed with a positive impact on students, creating and promoting a culture within the Key Stage where students experience a positive and enriching school life.
You will have previous leadership and management experience in a school, including pastoral support of students, with a minimum of 5 years’ teaching experience, including demonstrable experience of successful line and staff development.
Successful candidates will have a good understanding of high-quality teaching and of behaviour for learning. You should be an effective communicator, able to communicate a vision and to inspire others, building effective working relationships with all stakeholders with a desire to thrive for constant improvement.
